YouTube, the video sharing website which officially launched in December, looks set to become the most significant of the 50 or 60 similar sites that have launched in the past year. Why? Because it's got a great name, and it works.

I predict YouTube will rapidly gain mindshare among the public and become the pre-eminent independent video sharing website. The day I get an e-mail from my mum or dad with a YouTube link, I'll be back here to crow about it.
