Lutheran Cathedral Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kallio, Helsinki, Finland The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland Finnish: Suomen evankelis-luterilainen kirkko; Swedish, Evangelisk-lutherska kyrkan i Finland) is the Lutheran National Church and the largest church of Finland. The church professes the Lutheran branch of Christianity and is a member of the Porvoo Communion. As of the end of 2008, 80.6% of the Finns were members of the church. With slightly under 4.3 million members, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland is one of the largest Lutheran churches in the world. The head of the church is the Archbishop of Turku, currently Jukka Paarma.
