Tip: Mixing it up with different sources

WorldTV lets you bookmark and playlist video from a range of supported sites. These go far beyond the well known sites supported by our search feature.

We suggest exploring the ‘Add clip by url’ tab (in the Editor) to see the sites that you can paste in url’s from. These include the excellent break.com, blip.tv and several other fabulous video sites.

Some of these sites feature much higher quality video than is normal, and you can take advantage of this since WorldTV is high definition capable. You will also find some real gems of content on these sites as they all have passionate user communities that go way beyond the mainstream.

Mixing it up with different sources has another benefit too. While we are in beta, it’s possible for our connection to one or more of these sites to go down temporarily. If you have all your eggs in one basket as it were, it could mean your channel is unwatchable should our connection to a particular site go down. By having video from a few different sources, this problem is averted.

So the tip for today is mix it up with different video sites, there’s a whole world of video out there, and you may find some real gems you wouldn’t otherwise find!

  1. Hello,

I have a wishlist. I know you have probably thought of these and are still working on things, but I thought I would send these over anyway.

1)The ability for the editor to create subchannels within the main channel. i.e. if my channel is dog, I would like to create groups such as: dog shows, dog training, funny dogs, etc. Basically, it would be nice to be able to organize my channel so that it can be easily surfed without having to go through each and ever video.

    2) A place where the editor my place commentary or summaries of videos so the viewer will know the contents without clicking and watching the whole video.

    3) A section in my channel that I can add a shopping cart so that income may be generated. On my dog channel, I might be able to sell products related to dogs.

    WorldTV has great potential! Thanks!

  2. Cecilia, thank you for your interesting ideas. They are much appreciated. We will give them serious consideration!

  3. Wow, I think that would be cool for paid versions.
All I ask is we move the logo off the volume controls lol

Oh yea and I wish my editor and site would come up.

This is the best player I have found online and I have been working for years to find it.

    Best Wishes, Chaz

  4. I must rate this 8-10 out of 10.
